Sorry for getting to this a bit late, but I'll explain now haha.
All one needs to do is create their character in the character creation board. You can choose what clan that cat is a part of and boom. That cat is part of that clan and always has been unless specified otherwise. No cats need to be accepted in order for you to start role-playing them unless they are a high position (HP; leader, deputy, med. cat, etc.).
We aren't too complicated :)
